About me

I have had the unique experience of succeeding with my very first start-up having built the product and engineering team from scratch and leading the product and engineering function and engineering culture in a way that my team even today have very fond memories of the experience. During that time I have hired and mentored a cross functional and diverse team of engineers ranging from fresh graduates to directors. I have helped engineers at every level grow their career and develop their technical as well as soft-skills and above all I have learnt from them what leadership is all about and how I can positively influence people of all ages and backgrounds achieve what they are truly capable of achieving.

Key Projects

Peerius - A multi-tenant, SaaS personalisation platform.
Peerius is a multi-tenant SaaS personalisation platform, that I developed from scratch initially aimed at small and medium sized online retailers. The platform allowed our customers to recommend personalised products to their customers on their website on any landing page or just their shopping pages. Over time, I architected, migrated and refactored improvements to the solution, hired more product and engineering personnel and so that the solution could cater to enterprise customers. The challenge of making a start-up work was challenging with lots of ups and downs, good decisions and bad decisions, conflicts and some times long hours but it was all worth it when we we received recognition and awards from the industry and when we grew to the right size to make a successful transition from a start-up to a company that was acquired for its product, people and customers.

Skills

I gained a lot from the start-up experience, starting from having to convert ideas and concepts into a commercially viable product. This involved a lot of learning in terms of technologies, product development, agile practices, QA and security practices, DevOps processes, Roadmap planning, Feature prioritisation, Tech-debt management, people hiring, mentoring and development. The list goes on.,
