Key Projects
UCAS - migration to cloud, 2013-2014
I was the Amazon Web Services account manager for UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) which manages all student applications to UK universities. In 2013 UCAS migrated from their legacy, on-prem IT infrastructure to the AWS cloud. The migration transformed UCAS's business, bringing new levels of scale, resilience, reliability and security to the services they provide to 180 universities and 600,000+ student applicants every year. The project won the "Best Public Sector Project" award at the inaugural UK Cloud Awards in 2014. I led AWS's involvement in the project and developed deep relationships across the UCAS business, including CXO engagement with the CIO, CFO and CEO.
