In 2025, more people than ever before are worried about technology replacing human jobs. For many it seems almost certain that the AI takeover is just beginning and the real question isn\u2019t whether it\u2019ll happen but which will be the first jobs AI will replace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it\u2019s important to note that AI alone isn\u2019t likely to spell the end of any specific job roles. What\u2019s far more likely to happen is that jobs which were already on their way out will now disappear altogether with AI representing a final straw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article we\u2019ll be talking about four jobs that are almost certain to disappear within the next decade and how AI is likely to replace them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Telemarketing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Telemarketing has long been on the way out but has never quite managed to die off. With the advent of social media<\/a> and a whole wealth of new marketing opportunities, the need for telemarketing is not as strong as it once was but, nonetheless, it\u2019s hard to replace the sheer value of the direct approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of this to say that telemarketing will probably never disappear altogether but in future it may not be a human on the other end of the phone. AI voices are now able to sound more realistic and lifelike than ever before while large language models such as chatGPT are more than capable of listening to and responding to basic questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a rudimentary script, AI tools designed for telemarketing can be left running automatically, massively reducing company costs. Not only does this cut out the need for staff but it also cuts down on the amount of space required making it quite the no-brainer for many companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Online Customer Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To an extent, online customer service has already been automated. Chat bots designed to process your query and minimise the need for human interaction have been around for a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, up until now they\u2019ve always \u2018reported back\u2019 to a real person so to speak. The moment the bot pinpoints the issue it passes you over to a person with specific expertise who can help direct you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the need for some form of human customer service will probably be around for a long time but many of the tasks customer service agents handle on a daily basis are fairly repetitive. With the right set of data and reasonable restrictions in place AI customer service bots could absolutely revolutionise this field, allowing even smaller companies to have some form of 24\/7 customer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you want to see an example of AI taking over human jobs in 2025<\/a>, then look no further, because many companies are already implementing these tools as a part of their customer service experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Research Assistants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, for this example, we\u2019d like to throw in a caveat. The term research assistant is quite broad while the role we\u2019re referring to is fairly specific. We\u2019re certainly not saying that all research assistants will be replaced by AI but a specific type of assistant probably will be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many research assistants are hired because they possess two qualities: they know about the subject matter and they\u2019re able to trawl through large amounts of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, research assistants generally aren\u2019t expected to be setting the direction of the work. While they might provide valuable insights, the role is essentially one of educated grunt work that many researchers have to work before they can find a more senior role in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, AI is able to fulfill both of the necessary requirements, often with fairly minimal oversight. While it\u2019s always vital to check any citations an AI will provide, AI research assistance are fantastic tools to help you handle large quantities of information as well as finding relevant information on a topic you\u2019re studying. Not to mention they\u2019re significantly faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With many research teams being overworked and underfunded it only makes sense that they\u2019d be looking for places to save money and pour it back into the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Transcribers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Transcription is yet another example of a job AI is already taking over. While the results of AI transcription can be somewhat mixed, there\u2019s no doubting the value in these tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Human transcribers have generally been something of a luxury for companies. With AI transcription you can get everything down in an easily searchable text format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although it\u2019s true that AI transcription is still prone to minor phonetic errors, this is an area that\u2019s very likely to improve over time. Not to mention, in many cases – such as meetings – the results don\u2019t need to be perfect but merely \u2018good enough\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
